On the 11th of April, 2024 marked a watershed moment for Sierra Leone as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, and Sierra Leone’s Hon. Timothy Musa Kabba, inked a pivotal cooperation framework in Budapest. Amidst the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Ing. Francis Alpha Kallon, orchestrated the signing of a groundbreaking agreement: a €50 million pledge for water supply infrastructure in Koidu City.
Adding a significant twist to the proceedings, Mr. Abdul Razak Bah, the esteemed CEO of BRUNNENBAU CONRAD SL LTD, received an exclusive invitation to witness the historic event firsthand. This move not only solidifies Sierra Leone’s diplomatic ties but also showcases the collaborative effort driving the nation’s development agenda.
Beyond the water supply endeavor, Hungary has committed to enhancing educational opportunities for Sierra Leonean students, with an increase in scholarships for those meeting Hungary’s academic standards. Additionally, a visa waiver for Sierra Leonean holders of diplomatic passports underscores the strengthening bond between the two nations.
With this monumental step, Sierra Leone embarks on a transformative journey towards sustainable water access, bolstered by international partnerships and the visionary leadership of key stakeholders like Mr. Abdul Razak Bah.
